The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

Fun Fact
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are loving and affectionate companions with a fascinating history. Their adorable looks, interesting name and personality all come with a story. The name of this breed derives from King Charles II of Great Britain, who ascended to the throne in 1661. During the English Civil Wars, his father’s supporters were known as Cavaliers, and he continued to use the name as a political classification after he was proclaimed king. Charles adored his spaniels and he always surrounded himself with his dogs and he took them everywhere. Hence, Cavaliers were considered Royal Dogs!

Tip of the Month – Potty Training
Potty training a puppy takes patience, consistency and positive reinforcement! Our puppies are usually familiar with going outside in the grass each time we let them out into the yard they will go potty.

It is important to establish a routine for your new puppy. Always take them out first thing in the morning, after meals, naps and before bedtime. Always clean accidents immediately and thoroughly. If the scent remains, it can encourage them to go in the same spot. Be patient, accidents will happen! Avoid scolding as it can create fear which will then cause your puppy to go out of sight like behind the couch or under furniture. Instead redirect them outside immediately.
